Welcome to Dawrat Hayat. We are committed to protecting your privacy and personal data. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, protect, and delete your data when you use our application.
Dawrat Hayat is an Arabic-first women's health and pregnancy platform. We treat your health data with the highest level of care and responsibility.
02 Data we collect
2.1 Account information
- Name and email address
- Password (hashed with a strong algorithm — never stored in plain text)
- Social login info from Google, Apple, or Facebook (if you choose to use them)
2.2 Health journey data
- Pregnancy: Due date, baby info, kick counter, contractions
- Postpartum: Baby info, feeding, sleep, vaccination schedule
- Cycle tracking: Period and ovulation data
- General: Mood, symptoms, weight, blood pressure, medical appointments
2.3 Data that stays on your device only
The following data is never sent to our servers:
- SmartProfile: Analyzes your data locally to provide recommendations
- Ad segments: Computed on-device (e.g. 3rd_trimester) — raw health data is never sent
- Cached content: Saved for offline use
- Encrypted offline queue: Data awaiting sync (encrypted)
03 How we use your data
- Service delivery: Personalizing health content based on your journey
- Health tracking: Displaying mood, symptoms, weight, blood pressure, and appointments
- Notifications: Reminders for appointments, vaccinations, and personalized tips
- App improvement: Analyzing crashes and errors to improve performance
- Advertising: Showing relevant ads based on anonymous on-device segments
04 Third-party services
The App integrates with the following services, each with its own privacy policy:
- Google / Apple / Facebook Sign-In: The App receives only your name and email
- Sentry: Crash reports (device type, OS, error stack trace) — no health data
- Expo / EAS: Push notifications and OTA updates — receives your push token
- Ad networks: Receive only anonymous segments (e.g. birth_prep nursing_support) — no raw health data is shared
05 Data security
- Encryption in transit: All data is sent over HTTPS
- Password hashing: Secure hashing before storage
- Secure device storage: Expo SecureStore for authentication tokens
- Encrypted offline queue: Locally cached sync data is encrypted
- Soft then permanent deletion: Deleted data is hidden immediately and permanently erased within 30 days
06 Data storage & retention
Where your data is stored: On secure cloud servers hosted by Railway (EU / US data centers), with encrypted backups.
How long we keep it: As long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we follow this schedule:

07 Delete your account & data
You can delete your account and all your data in one of two ways:

- Open the Dawrat Hayat appSign in if needed
- Go to your Profile"Me" / "Profile" icon in the bottom tab bar
- Tap "Privacy Settings"إعدادات الخصوصية
- Choose "Delete Account"حذف الحساب
- Confirm with your passwordAn extra safeguard to verify your identity
- Final confirmationYour account and all data will be deleted within 30 days
📧 Method 2: By email
Send an email to [email protected] from the email address registered to your account, with subject: "Account Deletion Request". We will respond within 30 days.
What gets deleted, what is kept?
- ✅ Permanently deleted: All account and profile data, health records, baby data, vaccinations, notes, reminders
- ✅ Cancelled: Notifications and reminders
- 📊 May be kept anonymized: Statistical data that cannot be linked back to you (e.g. "users at pregnancy week 20")
- 📜 Kept by law: Billing records or legally required data for the duration mandated
08 Your rights
Under the GDPR and applicable laws, you have the following rights:
- Right of access: Request a copy of your data
- Right to rectification: Update your data from account settings
- Right to erasure: See Delete your account
- Right to data portability: Request a machine-readable export
- Right to object: Object to processing for marketing purposes
- Right to withdraw consent: Withdraw your consent at any time

09 Children's privacy
Dawrat Hayat is intended for adults. The minimum age to use the App is 16 years old. We do not knowingly collect data from people under this age. If we learn that a user under 16 has created an account, we will delete their data immediately.

10 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via an in-app notification and by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
